Hi there, guys! I’ve been trying to put the finishing touches on a couple of rooms that have been almost, but not quite finished, for a long time now. I’ve also got painters coming next week to get started on a new room makeover, and I’m already shopping for its accessories. One of the things that really make a room are the pillows you choose for the bed and sofas, but they can get really expensive if you need several.
Wouldn’t it be great to find unique decorative pillows without breaking the bank? Well, I found a few places to buy inexpensive pillows that you may not have thought of.

Let me share a little tip on decorative pillows…I like to buy the cover and the insert separately because it makes it inexpensive to change them out frequently to update a room. Both Amazon and Ikea carry inexpensive inserts in both down and polyester fills. This allows me to decide how full I want the pillows. If I want them very full, I use an insert a size larger than the pillow cover. So, for an 18×18″ pillow cover I’ll use a 20×20″ insert. Most of the pillows I’m showcasing today are for the pillow cover only.
Amazon
I’ll admit, I do a lot of shopping at Amazon. We have a Prime membership, and it makes it so easy to get the best price on whatever I’m looking for without having to leave the house. I hadn’t thought about looking there for my decorative pillows until I started updating our master bedroom and stumbled upon this elephant pillow.
Since then, I’ve found so many that I love (many of them are under $3 for the cover). Here are a couple of pairings that I’ve been considering.
(Did you know that students get free Amazon 2-day shipping for 6 months and then get half off the yearly cost of Prime? That would have come in handy when I was in school. Especially when I didn’t have a car!)
H&M
I love shopping at H&M for their affordable clothes, but did you know they have an entire home decor section online? Some of their pillows are a little more expensive, but I picked up several over a holiday weekend for quite a steal, so watch for sales. I also have some of their less expensive patterned and velvet pillows, and I’m really happy with the quality. They change out their product frequently, so you’ll want to check back often to see what’s new.
Society 6
In case you haven’t heard of Society 6, it’s a great way for artists to sell their artwork in multiple forms over the internet. They feature so many talented artists, and in addition to getting prints, you can get art on pillows (including outdoor pillows). Here are a few from Lucy at Craftberry Bush that are sold on Society 6. She’s got some really great seasonal pillows that I think I’ll be ordering soon! The great thing about buying just the pillow cover is that it’s easy to change and store away whenever you want to decorate for a new season!
They have so many to choose from! I love that you can find some really unique pillows that you won’t find anywhere else, and you’re supporting an artist!
I can’t wait to finish up these rooms and show them to you! I’ve been needing to get them done for so long now that it will feel great to cross them off my list. Here is my referral code that will get you $10 off a $30 purchase.)
Where do you find your decorative pillows?
Don’t forget to pin it so you’ll be able to find great pillows when you’re ready!

Hi, Mary! My H&M pillows are some of my favorites! Society 6 just emailed out a coupon this morning, so I think that means that I really need to order the Craftberry Bush Red Wagon pillow for fall. It’s meant to be!
