I know everyone is busy with their last minute Christmas preparations (if you’re done wrapping presents, I’m totally jealous because I’m so behind this year), but I thought I’d pop in to tell you about our Christmas tablescape that I finally wrapped up (no pun intended…well, maybe a little).
My inspiration for our Christmas tablescape came from the red herringbone napkins that I found at HomeGoods. The fringe reminded me of a scarf, and I thought it would be fun to have a little bit of a winter, outdoor theme this year.
I wrapped the folded napkins a few times with some red twine, added a little jingle bell, and tied them with a bow. I have to say that they sounded so festive (and, surprisingly not annoying) as I was putting them on the table, and I think they are going to sound lovely when everyone is taking them off for dinner.
The greenery for the centerpiece is some pine garland that I found at Michael’s. I love its long needles with just a sprinkling of snow! I cut the garland in half and placed both pieces side by side in the center of the table. Then, I added a few red berries and some lamb’s ear leaves that I also picked up at Michaels.
I have a collection of different crystal candlesticks that I think give the centerpiece a fun, icy element!
I’ve been using quite a bit of plaid around the house this Christmas, so you may remember the fabric on the placemats from the banner I hung on from my fireplace! These placemats are an incredibly easy “no-sew” DIY that I will share with you tomorrow!
I love how simple this Christmas tablescape was to put together, but it still looks elegant and festive. It’s perfect for the smaller group that we’re hosting this year.
So, are you all ready for the big day? I still have to do my grocery shopping, but our house guests have already started to arrive! Yikes! At least I figured out what we’re eating when I put together my holiday side dish post. If you still need recipe ideas you should definitely check it out! And, if you’d like to see more of what our home looks like over the holidays you can see it here.
