I am beyond excited to open up my home to you today, along with 25 other bloggers, in a virtual Christmas Tour of Homes. Each day this week, several homes will be open for you to come in and peek around. We all have different decor styles, so there will be lots of inspiration for anything youβre looking for. The links to all of the bloggers are at the bottom of this post, so please be sure to check them out.

If this is your first time here, welcome! Iβm so glad youβre joining me. My short story is that we moved into a 90-year old home a few years ago and have been slowly making it our own. I love color, and you will see lots of it throughout my home. You can check out the full story here.
Grab a cup of coffee, and let’s take a look around. Today, I am sharing our foyer and living room with you. These are the areas we use the most to celebrate the holiday season, and they are some of my favorite areas of the house.
Our foyer is more of a connecting room or hallway to several other rooms in the house, so we keep the furniture simple with just an entry table and a couple of small stools. These mercury glass trees are something I picked up when we lived overseas, and they are one of the first things I set out each year.

This beautiful “glass art” wreath is one of my mom’s creations. I have been wanting one of her wreaths for years, however, her Christmas art is so popular that she always sells out before I can get my hands on one (you would think that having a connection would help you out, wouldn’t you?). Luckily, last Christmas she gave me this wreath, and this is my first year to be able to display it. I love decorating with something my mom made. This is one of those times that I wish you guys were really here because this photo just does not do it justice.

Last year, I shared how I made this festive plaid “Oh What Fun” banner. I’ve moved it to the foyer this year and draped it over the mirror to bring a little more color to the room.

Off of the foyer is our living room where we keep our Christmas tree.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may have realized that I love plaid! I love plaid for any season, and you can find it in various colors in my home all year long. This beautiful plaid ribbon is the perfect garland for our “red and white” tree.

There’s a small bookcase in our living room that I cleared of its usual decorations to display some of my favorite Christmas items that I’ve collected over the years. The Wizard of Oz nutcrackers hold a special place in my heart. My younger brother gave me one nutcracker every Christmas until I had the complete set, and I still think of him when I put them out each year.

Our fireplace mantel is a challenge for me to decorate each year because it’s only 2 inches deep, so I have to keep it fairly simple. This year, I went with a flocked long needle garland that I picked up at Michael’s.

I filled this red ornament vase with some clippings from trees in our yards to set on the coffee table.

The wreath over the fireplace is a new addition this year from Marshall’s. The crystals that cover it are truly stunning, and you can see them shine from across the room.

I hope you enjoyed the tour! I will be back soon to share more of our home decorated for Christmas, but in the meantime, please stop by to see more of the amazing decor that is being shared on our Christmas Tour of Homes.

Robin, Your fireplace is so stunning! It’s too bad you only have the 2 inches, but you made the best of a bad situation. Your mother’s glass art is really beautiful. I took a look at her FB page and her work is really amazing. I’m thrilled she gave you a piece of her art. Merry Christmas, my friend!
Hi Robin,
I know that fireplace can be a pain with such a shallow mantle but seriously…it looks amazing every single time. It is such a statement piece in your room that it really pulls you in. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Happy holidays!
Hey there friend, your home is so lovely and especially at Christmas time. I can see the challenge of your mantle, but at the same time…it is such a lovely and unique element of your home and you have managed to emphasize it’s beauty. And Wow, I can see where you get your talent…Mom’s got it in spades.
Thanks for opening your home for all of us.
Merry Christmas my friend.
