Who loves salted caramel? Me! Right here! With my hand high in the air! This Salted Caramel Butter Bar Recipe is one of my easy, go to dessert ideas. They are a huge hit at parties and people can’t believe they are homemade from scratch. These ooey gooey butter bars are so easy to make.
My love of salted caramel runs deep and starts with a couple of my favorite candy bars.
WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR CANDY BAR?
Snickers and Twix are definitely my top two candy bars and with their delicious caramel centers, how could they not be. Apparently, I am by far not alone, since Snickers ranks as the top selling chocolate bar in the world. What is not to love? The chocolate, caramel, peanuts, and creamy nougat make this candy bar a winner.

CAN YOU USE AN INGREDIENT OTHER THAN CARAMEL?
At first, I might question why you would ask such a thing, but if you are wondering about using chocolate, then yes! The creamy salted caramel filling is just that, a filling that can be replaced. Luckily, this is a homemade from scratch recipe, making it easy to modify, if you so desire.
Now as I have stated, I love me some salted caramel filling, BUT I did come across another tasty option. Wait for it……. Nutella! Salted Nutella Butter Bars. Now doesn’t that sound creamy and delicious? You can either replace the caramel with Nutella or use both to take your salted caramel butter bars up a notch.

HOW TO MAKE SALTED CARAMEL BUTTER BARS
What is really great about these salted caramel butter bars is that they don’t require boiling a hot liquid over the stove or a candy thermometer, unlike many caramel recipes I see. If you are looking for an easy dessert idea, then these gooey butter bars are the answer.

HOW DO YOU STORE THESE SALTED CARAMEL BUTTER BARS?
Once these creamy salted caramel butter bars are made, they can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Before eating them straight from there, I recommend heating the caramel butter bars up in the microwave for 20 seconds. This allows the caramel to heat up a bit and not be so sticky. Plus they are most delicious warm.
